The Office of Alumni Engagement at ���Ҵ�ý is hosting the Alumni Experience Series, where attendees hear alumni share their stories and engage in hands-on activities. The next event in the series will feature alumnus Dalton Hesson on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. in the Robinson Theater at the Piqua Campus.

During the event, “Lender by Day, Musician by Night,” attendees will discover how Hesson balanced a 40-hour workweek while pursuing a degree. Attending Edison State provided several benefits that aligned with his values, such as its proximity to home, affordability, internship opportunities, and supportive professors.

“Edison State helped prepare me for my career by giving me further knowledge of banking regulations and teaching me the importance of time management,” said Hesson. “With this knowledge, I’m better able to explain to customers and coworkers why a certain process is done the way it is. Time management was also a major learning curve as I was working 40 hours per week while taking online courses. My schedule filled up quickly, so I had to find a balance to complete classes and work efficiently.”

Despite the demanding schedule of work and classes each week, Hesson still found time to engage in his lifelong passion for music. Thanks to his degree, he now applies his interest in banking as a lender at Greenville National Bank.

Attendees of the Alumni Experience Series event will gain insights into consumer lending, connect with Edison State business faculty, and hear Hesson showcase his guitar talent.
